Reservation

• We accept reservations up to 5 months in advance.
• Please check the availability of the rooms before making your reservation.
• Please consult with us in advance if you will be bringing children younger than 6 years old along.
• Depending on the timing of the last upload of room availability information, we may not be able to tend to your requests. We will check the room availability and e-mail you back within 1 or 2 days for a tentative reservation. If 2 days have passed by and you have not heard back from us, please contact us at info@shouan.jp.
(Just to make sure, please check your Junk Mail Folder as well)
• When we get a confirmation e-mail back from you, your reservation will be completed. Please reply to the tentative reservation e-mail within 3 days to complete your reservation. Please be aware that if we do not receive a reply to the tentative reservation e-mail within 3 days, it will be cancelled. (Please let us know even if you do not wish to complete the reservation.)
• Please contact us at info@shouan.jp , if you would like to make a reservation less than 3 days in advance.
• If you would like to reserve the entire building, and your requests do not match any of the described in the form below, please enter them in the comments section.

• Check-In　16:00-21:00　Check-Out 8:00-11:00
• We take a photocopy of the passport of foreign guests who do not have a living address in Japan.
  (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) Thank you for your understanding.

Opening hours 8:00-21:00 (The front desk will be closed between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm) We can keep your baggage at the front during opening hours.
Please use this service upon your arrival or after checking out.
(Please understand that there may not be any staff at the front desk between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.)

Please pay the total amount for your stay in cash at the front when you check-in.
(We do not accept credit cards)

• There is no curfew, but we lock the entrance door at 9:00 pm.
  (Every guest is expected to securely lock up the entrance door when they come in after 9:00 pm.)
• Please consult with us in advance if you will be bringing along children younger than 10 years old.
• Bedding consists in Japanese-style futon. Please make your own bedding using the provided sheets.
• It is forbidden to smoke within the building.
• All guest rooms are equipped with air-conditioning facilities (cool and warm.) However, since this is an old wooden building, you may still feel hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
• The Kyomachiya is an ole wooden building, which means that is does not insulate noise very well.
  So, especially after 22:00, try to keep other customers in mind.

• Same day or no show／100％ charge　1 day prior／80％ charge
• Cancelled 2 - 7 days prior to the date of arrival／50％ charge
• Cancelled 8 or more days prior to the date of arrival ／ No cancellation fee

• 1F表の間/Ground floor - Omote no Ma (1-2 people)
• 2F東の間/Second floor - Higashi no Ma (1-3 people)
