Reservation

• Reservations can be made five months prior to your stay.
• Please check the room availability when making a reservation.
• As a 130-year-old Kyoto Machiya Inn, noise proof has not been installed. Therefore, we are afraid that children under 6-year-old cannot be accommodated at Shouan. We appreciate you for understanding and cooperation.
• Please be aware that room availbility shown on the website cannot be actual information due to manual updating. In such a case occurs, our room availability may not be able to meet your request. When we find your inquiry, we will check the room availability and respond you within 1 or 2 days for a tentative reservation. In any case our respond has not been found two days after your inquiry had been made, please contact us at info@shouan.jp. Also we advise you to check your Junk Mail Folder in any case our responding email has been blocked.
• Your reservation will be completed when a respond to our confirmation email is found. Please respond to the tentative reservation e-mail within three days to complete your reservation. Please be aware that if we do not receive a reply to the tentative reservation e-mail within three days, room(s) will be sold to other guest(s). Responding to the tentative reservation email would be much appreciated even in a case you do not wish to take the room(s).
• Please email us at info@shouan.jp , to make a reservation for less than three days prior to your arrival.
• Please provide us details in the comments column in any case you would like to book two or more rooms including chartering whole accommodation and/or you have some special need.
• Room rates and breakfast prices are subject to change due to weekends and/or peak seasons. Please make an inquiry for more details.

• Check-In　16:00-21:00　Check-Out 8:00-11:00
• In any case if you will arrive later than 9:00 pm for check in, please inform us in advance to arrange the late check in.
• Due to Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare regulations, we are required to take photocopies of foreign guests if not having registered address in Japan. We appreciate you for understanding and cooperation.

Business Hours 8:00-11:00 & 16:00-21:00 (The front desk will be closed between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm) Guests’ luggage before check in and after check out can be stored.
Dropping off and picking up can be done during our front desk operating hours.
Please understand that no staff member may be attended between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Payment for your entire stay will be made only by cash at the front desk when checking in.
We are afraid that we do not accept any credit card and appreciate you for cooperation.

• No curfew is set at our machiya inn, but the entrance door is locked for security reasons between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am.
  All guests are asked to lock the main entrance inside the building when coming back to the machiya inn between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am.
• Please inform us in advance if planning to take children aged under 10-year-old to the machiya inn.
• We offer futons for bedding in all rooms. All guests are required to make their own futon with provided sheets. If you are not sure how to make futon, please inform us and we are happy to help you.
• Our machiya inn is a smoke free building.
• All guest rooms are equipped with airconditioners to heat up or cool down the rooms. However, since the machiya inn is an old wooden building, rooms may not be enough cool the summer and warm in the winter even with airconditioners. We advise guests to bring warm clothes in the winter.
• Since the Kyomachiya is an old wooden building, the machiya inn is not a noise proof building. Please take a noise control at night time to respect other guests.

• Cancelled 8 or more days prior to the date of arrival ／ No cancellation fee

• 1F表の間/Ground floor - Omote no Ma (1-2 people)
• 2F東の間/Second floor - Higashi no Ma (1-3 people)
• 2F西の間/Second floor - Nishi no Ma (1-2 people)
